Dua Lipa‘s historic Royal Albert Hall performance wasn’t complete without an appearance from Sir Elton John.
On Thursday, Oct. 17, Lipa made her debut at the historic 150-year-old venue and pulled out all the stops. Backed by an orchestra and marked by several outfit changes, the performance gave fans a taste of what’s to come for her upcoming 2025 Radical Optimism tour in support of her 2024 album of the same name.
At the show’s encore, Lipa, 29, brought out John, 77, to perform their 2021 chart-topping hit “Cold Heart (Pnau Remix).” The dance song is a medley of some of John’s biggest hits “Rocket Man,” “Kiss the Bride,” “Sacrifice” and “Where’s the Shoorah?” Clad in an all-black feathery dress to contrast John’s maroon suit, she joined him from his chair amongst the choir for the duet.

The English-Albanian singer had some other surprises up her sleeve, including the live debut of “Dance the Night” from the Barbie soundtrack. The disco track peaked at No. 1 on the pop airplay charts.
Lipa acknowledged the venue’s long history, telling the crowd per Variety, “There have been so many notable figures on this stage, like Winston Churchill, Charles de Gaulle, Einstein. I’m 99% sure that they didn’t have their dancers with them either.”
He and Lipa have enjoyed a friendship over the past few years, with John telling Variety in November 2022 that “I adore her.”
“She is incredibly talented — absolutely brilliant — and so professional. It’s a pleasure to be around someone who is so young, has done so much already and is so humble,” he said of Lipa at the time. “She is also great fun, and we get on like a house on fire.”

When she’s not performing at a historic venue with Elton John, Lipa is showcasing her culinary concoctions. While in Austin, Texas for her recent performance at Austin City Limits, the “Houdini” singer stopped by a local restaurant to spice up her Diet Coke.
The strange drink starts with a Diet Coke poured into a cup, followed by pickle juice, a few whole pickles, and some jalapeño juice to top it off.”Everyone is staring at me,” she said in the TikTok sharing her creation.
Gordon Ramsay would go on to take one for the team and try it himself. After one sip, the award-winning chef immediately spit it out and offered a succinct review: “Dua Lipa, for God’s sake, girl! You’ll ruin your vocal cords!”
