Last week, we stumbled upon a little kitten named Michi when it was alone and lost in a parking lot. Michi appeared like a stray cat but had found a hiding place in that area. As we approached, Michi remained cautious and kept avoiding us.
Michi was just a small kitten, probably only a few weeks old, but it was already very intelligent and seemed to have experienced frightening encounters with humans. It’s possible that during its search for food, it had been chased and hurt. That fear had deeply ingrained itself in its mind.
Unable to squeeze through the door, we could only wait and be patient. I tried using food to lure Michi closer. Despite being hungry, Michi hesitated and didn’t want to approach me. After more than 30 minutes of waiting, it began to trust and allowed me to touch it.
We quickly captured Michi and took it to the rescue center. Its fur was dirty and infested with fleas from its time in the wild. We bathed and cleaned it, and finally, Michi had its first good meal in a long time.
We arranged a warm place for Michi with the necessary supplies. It rested overnight before being taken to the veterinarian the next morning. When we prepared to move it to the hospital, Michi suddenly became terrified and had a strong reaction. It jumped around in the crate, as if afraid of being betrayed again.
However, we reassured Michi that we were only trying to do what was best for it. Luckily, everything turned out fine, except that Michi was underweight and had a slight inflammation in its eyes. The vet prescribed medication and allowed Michi to come back home with us.
Currently, Michi has truly gained trust and considers the rescue team as its home. We didn’t expect Michi to have such a mischievous spirit. It can play happily with everything it sees. It sleeps on the sofa, on the bed, on the floor—anywhere it feels comfortable.
With its beauty, Michi has regained trust and happiness in life. Every day, we witness the joy and positive transformation in Michi, and we are very grateful for how it has made our lives much more interesting.
