Nina, a dog rescued from North Memphis, came to the Wright-Way Rescue with a 13lb tumor that had been haunting her all her life. Her condition was so dire that she was suffering from a high fever, was emaciated, and had a severe skin infection on her haunches and tail. The tumor was hanging from her belly, and she had two other smaller tumors along her left mammary chain. Her situation was critical, and every day that passed increased the risk of the tumor rupturing.

It was a nerve-racking ordeal to prepare Nina for surgery, but the team at Wright-Way Rescue was determined to help her. They knew that it was essential to take the time to see the necessary veterinary specialists and to perform all the tests and pre-surgical care she needed. They also had to get her weight up so that she could withstand the anesthesia. All these efforts were to increase her odds of surviv ing a surgery that was going to entail significant blood loss and also has a higher than average mortality rate.

Finally, on December 8th, Nina went in for major surgery, and she came through with flying colors. Post-surgical biopsy results showed that the smaller tumors were benign, and not surprisingly, the larger one was a soft tissue sarcoma. All signs are pointing to a full recovery, and she will soon be ready to find her forever home.

The team at Wright-Way Rescue worked tirelessly to help Nina, but they couldn’t have done it without the help of their supporters. The community rallied behind Nina, and their donations made it possible to cover the costs of her surgery and post-operative care.

It was an emotional moment when the team removed the giant tumor that had been haunting Nina all her life. She shed tears, and the team shed tears with her. It was a powerful moment that reminded everyone of the importance of their work.

Thanks to the efforts of the Wright-Way Rescue team and the generosity of their supporters, Nina has a warm family where she is cared for and loved. Her story is a testament to the resilience of animals and the power of compassion.
