Jonathan Antoine, who found fame on Britain’s Got Talent in 2012, has undergone an impressive transformation after piling on the pounds while living in America
Jonathan Antoine has undergone a dramatic transformation more than 10 years after wowing Britain’s Got Talent judges with his stunning vocals.
At just 17, Jonathan appeared alongside Charlotte Jaconelli and captured hearts on the 2012 series, clinching the runner-up spot to Ashleigh and Pudsey’s dog act. After BGT, the pair scored an impressive £1million ($1.3million) record deal with Simon Cowell’s Syco, but parted ways professionally two years later.
While Jonathan and Charlotte have since gone their separate ways, he has teased the possibility of a reunion in another 20 years’ time. Beyond career shifts and personal hurdles, it’s Jonathan’s physical change that’s most striking.

He’s shed a significant amount of weight thanks to lifestyle and dietary adjustments. Admitting past indiscipline, he shared to OK! Magazine: “I’ve still got a lot to lose but I’m making my way.

“I feel stronger and healthier than I have in 10 years, which is a lot. This year I’ve made an active choice. I’ve felt I’ve lacked the discipline a lot. When I was out in America its fast food everywhere.
“I was in a terrible state in the start of the year and I’ve been able to claw my way back doing light exercise.” Avoiding strenuous workouts due to his size, Jonathan added: “I’m a very big fella so heavy exercise would just tear me up. I’m working my way up, thinking about what I eat because that is important.”
He’s committed to racking up an impressive 10,000 steps daily, even if it means pacing back and forth in his room, and he’s never felt more alive. He shared: “For a long time I was just experiencing life, letting life live me, trying to find the next pleasure. Taking control of your own life, grabbing the world with your hands, feels amazing.”
Since rising to fame on BGT, Jonathan has soared to the top of the Classical Artist Album chart with his debut solo album, Tenore. His career has also seen him work with renowned figures such as Mexico’s operatic tenor Rolando Villazon and Leone Magiera, the celebrated Italian pianist known for his collaborations with Pavarotti.
