The 37-year-old Oleksandr Usyk secured a significant victory via split decision in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, over the weekend, maintaining his remarkable 22-0 unbeaten record. This win marked a historic moment as Usyk became the first undisputed heavyweight world champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999.

The grueling 12-round bout against Tyson Fury left the Ukrainian boxer visibly battered, as evidenced by the battle scars he showcased on Instagram. Usyk shared a photo of himself sitting at a table, fists clenched, revealing nasty cuts along his knuckles, likely sustained during his intense ninth-round assault that had Fury dazed and staggering around the ring.

The photo also displayed bruises under Usyk’s eyes and a patched-up cut above his left eye, highlighting the brutality of the match. After triumphantly lifting his belts in the ring, Usyk was promptly taken to the hospital for medical evaluation.
